And now her new book Life Retold is a National Bestseller!
- Is there something in your life you would like to change?
- Something small that scratches at your daily joy?
- Or maybe something big, that too often overshadows your happiness?
- Are you aquainted with blame? Loneliness? Shame? Stress?
- Is your body happy? Are all your relationships supportive and empowering?
- Do you have things in your life that are unforgivable?
- How are you and money getting along?
Long before pharmaceutical companies convinced us of the power in a pill-
the ancients lived in the conscious healing power of story.
Life Retold is an experience of recognizing, accepting and then retelling the stories that have created life experiences you no longer want. In the process of reading these stories the soul begins to stir with recognition for the freedom and empowerment long ago suppressed by the responsibilities, stresses, expectations and illusions of everyday life.
This book was written by a busy, active, giving person for busy, active, giving people who believe that transformation is best when it occurs with ease, support, inspiration, and a bit of magic.
Life Retold is one of those juicy treats that refresh your moments, your life and the lives of those who are a part of your story.
Each chapter of Life Retold is a story followed by what might best be described as a conversation starter with your higher self, family or friends. There are questions at the end of each chapter for those who want ideas for how to retell their own stories and for book clubs and groups that want to enjoy retelling lives together.
You were born with a mind that could imagine worlds in a pinecone and hear symphonies on the breeze. That same mind knows how to change the stories that are holding you back, weighing you down or dragging you forward.
Life Retold provides the reader with an experience of self acceptance, empowerment and release while reading. In a powerfully transformative, defenseless and courageous voice the writer somehow becomes you.
Reader Comments
"You're going to love this book! I laughed, I cried, I wanted to hear more... it was not what I'd expected, it was even more compelling. It is uncanny that the author is still alive, out of jail, and so spiritually strong. I expected stories of several people, making changes in their lives through alteration of their perception. Instead, I received a gift of getting to know the author, her story, and the beauty of her soul. Each story will call to you, each will suck you in, and each will make you want to reread it. This book is packed full of life-lessons and incredibly tender insights. It's more than another Chicken Soup book, as the author asks questions of the reader, sure to aid you in your own journey of self-exploration. A must read... at least twice."
- Linda Gardner, Lifelong reader
"I just finished your book...We received it yesterday and I read it last night and today.. As a therapist I have used retelling the story as part of my work for 20 years. This book is one I will recommend to my clients and friends....It is clear, honest, funny, and has high integrity that makes the understanding of retelling our story approachable and usable by many people..
Thank you for the gift of this book."
- Diana J. Bonnici
"I enjoyed reading this book tremendously, I would read one story at night before falling asleep. I slept well and found that some nights I remembered dreams that worked with the theme of the story I read. The book begins with a childhood memory, and goes through the author's experiences growing into who she is today. Each story has an aha moment when she recognized her own false beliefs, or learned something new about herself and God. After each story there are exercises you can do to deepen the experience. I did not do all the exercises on this first reading but plan to read the book again in a few months and do them then. Definitely a keeper but also a good book to share with others."
- Eleanor A. Uhl
"This was a very easy read. Individual chapters are like short stories and then there is a chapter review that can be used for a book club discussion. For those of us burried in self help books and then burdeoned with all the other "great books you should read" this is a refreshing change in that it inspires but doesn't devour you! I would recommend it as a great travel read, or the next to the bed read as a chapter a night is simple to accomplish."
- D. Beauparlant
"Life Retold moved me to the core of my being ~ beautifully written and inspiring beyond words. Teri bared her soul, helping me to review my own life, to ask questions heretofore unasked, and to see into my own soul further than I've ever previously dared to look."
- M. Friedrich
"In this 21st century, there has been great progress, proud prowess for all of us to enjoy. Paradoxically, life is also saturated with fears, anxieties, crises and tragedies. Life Retold is like a breeze of fresh Air in a suffocated environment. It provides practical pointers to help everyone cope with the daily challenges of the existence. It sheds light on how to overcome fears, sorrows and failures. This is qa great success. Congratulations to Terri Hawkins, Unity minister, Teacher, writer and author. This is a book to read and give to many others for a life changing experience."
- Jean D. Francois

"Teri Hawkins gives insightful food for thought to consider about everyday life experiences. Her imaginative character, sense of humor and provocative questions help to bring new light on how to grow from every experience in life. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to see and experience their own life from this perspective."
- Teresa Lea
"One of the most heartwarming and uplifting books I have ever read. Teri is an extraordinary writer. An amazing series of stories showing you how to live the life you want to live. If you liked 'The Secret' and want to know the most important secret of all, get this book. I've passed my copy on to my husband. You will want to share it with others too. Bravo Teri!"
- Tania Gabrielle
"When I received this book, I had three other books on my nightstand at various stages of story development. I threw Life Retold on top of the pile, thinking I would be faithful to those who came before. From the moment I gazed upon the cover and opened the fresh, new pages, a welcoming whisper begged me to begin. One day later, 10 shed tears, eyes more widened, and heart opened, i finished the book. After reading Teri's book, one will reflect on past memories, make them the more memorable, more positive and more valuable. From the smallest incident to life-changing occurrences, they will all change. I welcome you to open the book, open your eyes and open your heart. You and those around you will be glad you did."
- S. Moore
"Few people have traveled such an entrancing life and even less are willing to share their experiences. Terri's "Life Retold" however provides numerous words of wisdom encapsulated in 12 vignettes. Curl up on coach on a Sunday afternoon and wrap yourself with warmth, deep affection and inspiring insights."
- S. J. Swanepoel
"Not only is this book a tremendous, heartwarming read - like a letter from a friend - it is life changing in the best way - it shows you how to change your own life in every ongoing moment. For me, Life Retold is like nothing else - something from a completely new direction. It is a treasure that has given me new vision and allowed me to shed chains I didn't even know I had. It is powerful stuff."
- Stuart Smith
"It always amazes me when I hear about people who, despite having extremely difficult childhoods, become astoundingly talented and giving human beings... and Teri Hawkins' life story is one of the most extraordinary. Her stories of abandonment by her father, growing up in poverty, becoming paralyzed after an accident (just to name a few) are written in such a unique personal story-telling way that it makes you feel you are right there along side her, feeling all the joy, wonder, fear and pain with her. Engrossing and inspiring, the stories illustrate how the author completely transmuted the most challenging incidents in her early years into deeper understandings that led to growth and love in all areas of her life. Readers are shown how to apply these same lessons to their own lives at the end of each story."
- Joanne F. Pasmore
"If sad experiences and frayed relationships are crippling your life you will be inspired by this book. Through Teri's experiences I found a way to re-evaluate and use my past to empower me and add richness to my relationships and all the while I enjoyed it. Straightforward and brutally honest, Teri looks at life with clarity and wonder. This is a great read and powerful guide for finding happiness in life."
